Celebrate Australasia’s Largest Fishing Port

The Blessing of the Fleet is held each May at the Seafarers Memorial Pier on Wakefield Quay. It brings together families, industry members, and the wider public to reflect, remember, and celebrate our seafaring community. This free public event is both solemn and festive, combining ceremony with entertainment, food, and maritime displays.

The event also highlights the strength of community partnerships. Key trust sponsors include Talley’s, Sealord, Port Nelson, Coastguard, and Guard Safety.

All donations raised help sustain the event and maintain the Memorial Pier through the Seafarers Memorial Trust.
